When I complain about something someone else built, my thread is immediately flooded with people telling me to try building something, myself, for once. When I build something, myself, and write about it, hardly anyone notices or cares.
This is what it's like, being at the bottom of the #dev food chain. 😏
I feel you.
Hello, fellow bottom-dweller. 😅
It's only up, from here.
No where else to go. What language do you use primarily?
Well, honestly, SQL, Groovy, and Visual Basic (for and against Applications) 😅
Umm... PHP, Java, and I'm starting with Python because everyone says I have to.
You should learn basics of js before python imo. It's basically a requirement for any web development now.
I know some js. I usually avoid it because I'm a backend dev. Sort of algorithm-heavy stuff.
when i was coming of age, js was a complete joke and no serious backend dev would even sneeze at it. now its all the rage. Fwiw I am no front end dev but people only seem to pay attention to the flashy flashy pretty stuff or drama. I yearn to offload frontend and go back down to the important stuff. Maybe next year :D
Also, you should learn go just because I like it so much.
And now we know why so many stars got down on their knees for diddy.
One must be knighted by royalty for the plebeians to follow.
You need to team up with someone who'll complain as strongly about your stuff that you complained about other stuff.
I'd be happy to quote your notes and say your work is shit 🫶
It would help if people paid attention to those who are actually building solid foundations instead of haphazardly smashing crap together that "works" for a moment.

Build and critique anyway. 🤙
Hey, I see you. Keep on keeping on.
I dev for money or for myself. This means I don’t give a shit what others are doing. Ever.
Ignore critics unless they can do better than what you did. Nonsense in listening to hogwash, especially people who don't have the skills to build anything. There is an art and a skill to putting up a giant filter and selectively listening to only the most constructive feedback.
