Has anything been more destructive to the planet and to humanity than a full embrace of Keynesian economics by the world’s nation state governments over the past 80+ years?
Maybe the WW2 but besides that I can't think of anything else.
Nope.
I posted this reply on another note but I think it's valid here too. And I would add you have helped me understand this as well Dr. Jeff so thank you. What @Jeff Booth and @preston helped me understand is that not only have the centralized authorities been stealing our economic energy with inflation, but that inflation has also allowed them to steal any and all gains that were supposed to come to society through deflation (lower prices) brought about by technological advancements. The amount of theft is truly mind blowing 🤯 to the point where one would be surprised not by the fact the government is so big today, but rather how they have yet to take over everything with the amount of energy we willing provide them by continuing to stay in their system. Bitcoin is hope because as Preston says bitcoin will flow to the hands of the net producers, a complete paridgim shift from today's broken system. You can try to hold onto the old system or you can move to the new one today.
Bad fiat debt money are the most destructive leading to decay of values, culture and society as a whole. The following video is a gem and it explains the root cause and effects of debt for Japan. Similar situation have most countries. nostr:nevent1qqszhdpxmguzfsw2m9gx2ccaakr9cn5xncytvzwz3mv43k8udv9x2fqcq7mez
Economics is a scam. Keynesian vs Austrian is nothing more than a distraction for the plebs to argue over. We live in an oligarchy. The oligarchs do whatever they want. They don't give a shit if you want to use labels like Keynesian or Austrian, they are meaningless. Nation states don't choose between Keynesian or Austrian economics. Nation states do what they are told to do by the oligarchs that paid to put them in power. I bet your 401k is invested with the very oligarchs you're indirectly raging against.
Thanks for blanking out your X tweet and forcing me back to Nostr. Pleased you did. I keep coming back to this. Once you understand that the debt must expand ad Infinitum, on a planet with finite resources, everything else is noise. Love everyone on this thread, am going to stick around this time.
The expected answer would be no but to respect the reality this is not the first time civilization embarked on this road. Although we might give slightly different explanation this has happened few times in history and probably the most destructive was the collapse of Roman Empire for very similar reasons. After all it lead to 500 years of dark ages where we as humanity lost so much.
