I would say fear and hatred won yesterday. All the anti-trans stuff wasn’t exactly misogyny, and definitely not about racism. The pandemic (and a fair amount of corporate greed) caused inflation. A lot of that’s on Trump. Biden actually got it back down near the 2% Fed target. But the way inflation works - prices don’t go back down when the inflation is over. Consumer confidence and spending are back up - so saying the election was about inflation is just wrong. And (sadly) no one really cares about the wars - Americans aren’t dying. So not about that either. It was just about fear and hate. Which is really sad.

Unfortunately it's pretty common to pick the facts and statistics to support bigotry. I'm seeing so much of that right now among people who assume that their years of schooling and their media choices make them "educated." If there's one single thing that lost Kamala this election, I believe it's this arrogance.
