I appreciate Primal's UX on mobile but this really goes against our values. A ton of newbies will download Primal and put their real name, address and so on. @miljan will you be offering an alternative wallet for those who don't want to submit their personal data? STOP NORMALIZING FUCKING KYC nostr:note1e999rd2sn6h2nfgwqacdvm66pencxa6y2h0qsgjpqzq4cv9a7prs4l562z
I love the product overall but this is terrible. afaict you can't zap from another wallet installed on your phone. https://m.primal.net/HlJC.png
or in other words they aren't implementing NWC of course not! personally i don't like primal, i think they have got priorities a bit off skew so this is just another data point probably just mainly a US market bias tho... with WoS kicked out of USA and all, i mean, WoS is the good guy here, they refused to push people to KYC and here is primal doing this, so who is the more evil?
I checked and they do seem to support connecting Alby or Mutiny with NWC. https://m.primal.net/HlJK.png
still, it's definitely US centric, we have WoS out here, idk maybe that's just because you don't have it?
Hidden in settings, but to be fair they do support NWC nostr:note1zdc0jugzqc7gc3tk88pc2g9dultpjmhh08f6kwgr6nfv3vmdrans8yfnvl
I hear you @verbiricha and @franzap. I really do. But what is your suggestion for onboarding newbies onto nostr so they can participate in zapping? How specifically do you think it should be done? Genuine question.
I think you're on the right track in terms of onboarding newbies, the app works well. My suggestion would be "make the simple easy and the complex possible". The balance is too shifted to the simple, to the point where I had no idea other wallets could even be linked. During onboarding you could ask if the user has an existing wallet, and make it clear that the default will require KYC (you might be doing that already, can't recall). Appreciate your genuine interest in our feedback 🫂.
It's part of the roadmap to monetisation I expect.
