 They romanticize it as propaganda. Truth is the federal governments formes were about power, enforcement, and money. The vaguery used to try to legitimize it. Few people signed on to this nonsense

 as I get older, I suppose the rose tinted glasses falls off. 

Always revered the USA as a freedom loving, gun toting "by the people for the people" kind of place, but it seems like it's more like Communist USSR than what Hollywood made it out to be
