Especially true if you live on the far side of the pond 

 I get such a kick out of people I know who talk themselves up for living lives that are reminiscent of their grandparents', while completely ignoring the fact that they're afraid of anything that whiffs of change despite the fact that their grandparents did things like leave everything they knew behind, crossed oceans, and build entirely new lives in new lands... a bunch of whiny bitches playing as their grandparents who thrived in the face of adversity and didn't fear challenges or change.
