 I went to Walgreens to get a Covid booster and a flu shot. Got the booster, not the flu shot. They wouldn't take my insurance and told me to go to CVS.
 @3967703f What hot garbage. There should be some sort of equivalent to common carrier requirement for these huge pharmacy chains
 @3967703f Same exact thing happened to me, but with the added bonus that CVS, despite being my pharmacy, doesn’t accept my medical insurance 🫠
 @3967703f and this is why we need single payer, universal healthcare for all.
 @3967703f There's a grocery store a mile from my house that is offering free flu shots... but not COVID.
 @3967703f that's ridiculous.  I'm sorry that happened
 @3967703f

We don't have "healthcare" in the
USA. We have healthcare theater performed for investors.
 @3967703f I had to do the same thing. Seperate trip to a Kaiser clinic for my flu shot, but they didn't have the covid vaccine yet, so I had to go to Walgreens for that. :neocat_what:
 @3967703f
Sorry. Glad you got the booster, though!
 @3967703f
I haven't scheduled an appointment yet for the booster. I hope we don't have that trouble. But I fear it's happening all over. The US Healthcare system sucks.
 @3967703f my employer (a healthcare system) has flu vaccines for patients now, for staff probably not until next week. We have no COVID vaccines for anyone and an ETA of "maybe in two weeks". SHEER CHAOS
 @3967703f if that happens again point them to the bridge access program. https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/programs/bridge/index.html
 @3967703f I had the reverse happen for last year's flu shot. I went to CVS, they wouldn't take my insurance and told me to go to Walgreens because they have an exclusive deal with BCBS in Texas. Our health care system is insane.
 @3967703f

I was able to get Covid booster, flu shot and RSV at a CVS in a lower income neighborhood of Long Beach - closest availability. They never said anything about payment.
 @3967703f this country is ridiculous. Flu shots should be free for everyone. And so should covid shots. I read an article last week about the snafus all over the country for people trying to get a covid booster and this was my favorite quote from a guy in Miami: “What kind of country that’s circling the drain am I living in where after years of this public health emergency I can’t get something as basic as a vaccine in one of the larger cities in the country?”
