 I bought an usb saphire  block erupter. it cost me 0.1 bitcoin at the time (about 20 dollars). The time it took for it to arrive by mail, it couldn't mine that much in forever....

 2016: I bought a Dell computer from the US store and I had to pay in Bitcoin since they did not accept credit cards issued by my German bank. I don't think Dell accepts BTC payments anymore.
And no, I'm not thinking about the current value of the bitcoins I spent for a basic laptop.  😭
