After tracking my sleep for a year, I find it fascinating that I can drink coffee or an energy drink an hour or two before sleeping and it has a negligible effect upon my heart rate or sleeping patterns. But if I have a single unit of alcohol, my heart rate remains elevated for most of the night and I tend not to make it all the way to the morning without waking up at some point.
Mirrors my exp. Just with tea instead of coffee.
I have definitely noticed that alcohol keeps me from sleeping through the night as well.
Interesting Stats: What system did you use to track it? Any noticeable impact from CBD or THC?
Yep. I have the same thing. The only way to prevent this is to day drink lol
alcohol is bad
What are you using for tracking your sleep?
Oura
The worst for me is drinking too much, falling asleep early and waking up at 3am hung and can't go back to sleep.
Grain of salt with the trackers. Although I agree alcohol has an outsized impact. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/377549600_Evaluating_Accuracy_in_Five_Commercial_Sleep-Tracking_Devices_Compared_to_Research-Grade_Actigraphy_and_Polysomnography
