Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli, known for his flamboyant style, has passed away at the age of 83. Cavalli had been ill for a long time and had been in and out of the hospital for checkups. His family confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter. Cavalli's company also issued a statement on social media, praising his talent and creativity. Cavalli gained popularity in the 1970s for his animal prints and revolutionized denim in the mid-1990s. He opened his first boutique in St. Tropez in 1972. Cavalli retired from his label in 2015 and the business was later acquired by a Dubai-based investment firm. Cavalli is survived by his partner and six children.
