That is quite crazy indeed. So just using it, can you run a test for me? Find me the original Bitcoin chain or Bitcoin torch experiment on bitcointalk. I know I (giszmo) participated and the guy "pirate" who was behind the "Bitcoin Savings & Trust" scam. I would remember more details but with only these details I could not find it in half an hour.
Is it this? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=92658.0
Looks like a "bitcoin torch" although there is no "torch" in the name. I found it with the query "site:bitcointalk.org torch pirate giszmo". On Google I get nothing.
"Circle of Trust" it was! Thank you fiatjaf! I'll give https://kagi.com a try.
Ok, this convinced me. I just created an account. Let's see how it goes ...
Another https://kagi.com/ convert right here. nostr:nevent1qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtn90p5hgtnsw43z7qgwwaehxw309ahx7uewd3hkctcpr4mhxue69uhkummnw3ezucnfw33k76twv4ezuum0vd5kzmp0qqsqp5ms29e3mt56vy73pk5greprrytdvfycze02sd0u999f29yx80gf9ue3s
Prices quoted in dollars. Seems like a fiat business.
btc is a long way from being a medium of account
Great to hear you've invested in something that can't be accounted for. Sounds like a great investment.
So everything that's not a medium of account is a bad investment? 🤣
No, but you need to count/account for it somehow. Having a stash of $50,000 accounts for itself because everything else is accounted for in dollars. If BTC wants to stand on its own other things would have to be accounted for in BTC but they aren't. That will never happen because the price of anything in BTC will never be stable. I would have to be able to look at a Kagi subscription quoted in sats and go like "oh that's like 2 cups of coffee" but the price of coffee in sats and the prices of Kagi in sats will always fluctuate wildly.
