I run an Alby Hub on Umbrel and it's great. My only concern is, what happens when your server goes down? Could be electriciy or internet access goes down due to reasons outside of your control. This could be one reason someone would pay for a cloud service with 99.999% guaranteed uptime. https://fountain.fm/episode/BZaoftHVxuLhvFiINPyM
Absolutely. This is why I keep screaming for Failover. I want to have a clone of the same node in another location. The clones gossip with each other and if the slave node senses an outage of the main node it takes over until the main node comes back up. No one has cracked this nut though.
True synced failover would be great. I’d be happy with an easy backup. Umbrel has a migration tool from RasPi to Umbrel Home. I just asked yesterday on their Discord why not make a back up to external drive tool, doesn’t seem like a big leap.
