"This whole time i thought changing the world was something you did, an act you performed, something you fought for. I don't know if that's true anymore. What if changing the world was just about being here, by showing up no matter how many times we get told we don't belong, by staying true even when we're shamed into being false, by believing in ourselves when we're told we're too different? And if we all held on to that, if we refuse to budge and fall in line, if we stood our ground for long enough, just maybe... The world can't help but change around us."

This is a quote from the tv show #MrRobot and I think it's beautiful.

i feel like the part ‘showing up and staying true to yourself’ reflects a what a beautiful world we can live in instead of striving to fit in or earn the most money. i know it’s easier said than done and i think about this a lot.
i try my hardest to stay true to myself but i find it hard with so much noise.
i hope one day, before i die, i will see a world that i’ve been longing for my whole life. a world where we all live in peace, show up for each other and are staying true to who we are.
it’s a long stretch to hope for

it is hard but you're aware of the noise and possibility of interference between your true self and whatever else is going on around you and that's the most important part IMO 🤙 I think the "by staying true even when we're shamed into being false" is a very relatable part of the quote these days. So many people trying to push so much shit onto our plate all the time.
as you say being aware of the noise and interference will help you stay true to yourself.

so many people try to stay true to themselves but easily fall victim to being false in order to fit in - which i find very sad. it’s happening to young children earlier and earlier. a lot of this has to do with the environment we’re in.
i remember reading about that when we’re young we’re taught to fit in but when we get older, in order to succeed, we need to stand out. so we in a way become trapped in societies norms without realising it. i hope more and more people realise it, and find a way back to staying honest with themselves
Nothing is perfect, but I definitely can ride that vibe.
 Change your world.
