I get we are currently focused on secure communication but from the original post if we to include the need for Bitcoin, from my own experience, most just don't get it. And those who do get why it is important aren't ready or willing to take ownership. Which drives the point of the OP.

I don't gain anything by this being normalized. It is what I've observed in my endeavor to wake people I care about up. It is possible they may eventually get it when the need arise but there is no point trying to force it.
