But what I will say, if I couldn't get this right: not a chance in a million a normie will. 

 I suppose it is. I don’t know what the naming convention was like back when we named this but we think of it as a users personal “mailbox”. Inbox seemed like a reasonable name for a place where you can read private messages addressed to you. 

The whole NIP-65 inbox/outbox terminology confuses me quite a bit as well.
