 Thanks for posting that link.

I haven't read it all but what I did read seems full of rhetoric about 'The free world must prevail over the authoritarian powers in this race. We owe our peace and freedom to American economic and military preeminence. '

Peace and freedom? Plenty of evidence showing American military/CIA is used to terrorize other counties, killing, overthrowing democratically elected governments (like Chili for example), in order to extract resources and minerals (see Confessions of an Economic Hitman).

The author seems to be humming the American national anthem whilst writing. No mention is made of the tyranny being built for Americans, by Americans. No mention of the class war. It's all projected, Freudian style, onto the CCP.

It seems to arrogantly state how America leads in chip manufacture and research over China, which to my understanding is just not the case (check for a recent video interview of a Taiwanese silicon chip lead researcher stating how China has gone from high-school standard junk papers to leading the world in which others, including himself, can't even compete).

Looks like a propaganda piece, based on fear, aimed at the plebs, designed to manufacture consent from Americans and other 'free democracies' to throw all the national resources and political support into building an AI system for their 'safety and security.' I.e. generating demand from the plebs to build a prison for themselves.

Anyone read the entire thing? Perhaps I've missed something.
Not a propaganda piece in my opinion but because the author is looking through the lens of a system he believes is a free market, he makes some bad assumptions. More importantly, he misses that #Bitcoin is repricing the entire system his probabilities are based on - which significantly change those probabilities. That being said, it is well worth a read because AI’s rate of progress imo is accurate and the implications (like bitcoin) touch everything.
Not implying that just because a piece is propaganda the claims are necessarily false. I'm not talking about the what (description of the rate of AI progress) but the why. He's started a company presumably, based on his 'marketing and communications', aimed to save Americans. But who will save Americans from him and his company?

But I take your point, that you posted it for the description of the impact of AI, and as such, worth the read.

That aside. If the predicted rate of AI development is accurate, should we not presume that AI will be used to coop bitcoin to the ruling classes' benefit. Recoded by involuntary updates to all nodes? Nodes blocked. De-decentralized? And so, Bitcoin repricing is averted unless, I suppose, AI deems bitcoin a good thing. But isn't the point of his company to make sure AI doesn't do that - you know - to protect American's abundant freedom and democracy (ie, the ruling class)?
