Fancy bookstore in medium size European city. The “Economics” section is wedged in between “diversity” and “ecology” and consists of 50% hardcore Marxist titles. NOT GOOD. Hopefully young folks are watching BitcoinTok instead. https://image.nostr.build/5f0d4b10890581e831517d4ab8dcb96e0e76f9d2a536b84db488f73dabdea693.jpg https://image.nostr.build/e18f3fc80a2e5a2b7f6d9f9a840f12be2e4b22af266768915c6a64817ce59e90.jpg
I went back to a famous used bookstore in the Pacific Northwest last year and it was very much the same. It was especially sad to me because years earlier I had found a copy of Bastiat's Economic Harmonies there.
Are you talking about Powell's in Portland? The staff demanded that some books could not be sold by the company a couple of years ago during the height of the DEI bullshit. The owner caved a little and removed them from the store but allowed them to be sold online. The hypocrisy of the Left is unreal at times.
No, it was in Seattle and I don't recall the name off-hand. They ironically had a "banned books" section that of course only had fashionable left-wing propagandists who aren't banned anywhere. I would have had mad respect for them if that section had like Alex Jones and the like, even though I still wouldn't have been interested.
It is definitely troubling. On the flip side the tendency for young persons to be a bit rebellious is good when common sense is hidden.
