"If there’s one thing we all need to stop doing, it’s waiting around for someone else to show up and change our lives. Just be the person you’ve been waiting for. Live your life as if you are the love of it. Because that’s the only thing you know for sure – that through every triumph, every failure, every fear and every gain that you will ever experience until the day you die, you are going to be present. https://nostpic.com/media/04c960497af618ae18f5147b3e5c309ef3d8a6251768a1c0820e02c93768cc3b/fe1d390e058f63cb004a918a1221bdbf539aa9857b3c99f12128959042f2740b.webp You are going to be the person who shows up to accept your rewards. You are going to be the person who holds your own hand when you’re broken. You are going to be the person who gets yourself up off the floor every time you get knocked down and if those things are not love-of-your-life qualities, I don’t know what are." ~Heidi Priebe Ary | by Eric Brenner #ThingsIAdore
Yes, I agree, this all sounds great in theory, but in practice, it’s not so simple. I’ve tried countless times to change my life, and I’ve failed just as often. How do you truly change your life when you’re still always yourself at the end of the day? We all carry our same patterns, our same struggles, and they don’t disappear just because we want them to. I think it’s important to acknowledge that while we are always present for our own experiences, it doesn’t necessarily make transformation easy or even always within our control.
