Is scattering some sats into different wallets like BlueWallet, Muun, etc a good idea? Is there a better way?
Those wallets are both kinda terrible, though.
I mention them because others like Phoenix or Zeus have fees to use their wallets. I havent figured all that out yet. 😅
There are always fees, but sometimes wallets hide them. Muun struggles with high network fees and passes those on to the user intermittently when making transactions, as opposed to Phoenix and Zeus that charge you only when you add liquidity to your channels.
Right. So I may pay now but save in fees over time. Got it. I need to make changes.🤙
Phoenix explains this fairly well in their app with the bucket analogy. https://image.nostr.build/27de01e71b26560a6b85fddbea0dd16f70fdf71d306996bedbd42b57b9d3ad6b.jpg
They do and it's a very cool feature too.
Can you suggest a couple?
You named two of the best already. Zeus, Phoenix, and also Mutiny if you’re holding Lightning sats. Ideally you should take some of them on-chain to put in cold storage once there’s enough to make it worth creating a UTXO.
What about Minibits? Testing it out now, seems to be working great
I want to try this! Is it similar to eNuts wallet?
I havent tried eNuts but I think its the same protocol.
Yours gives you a lightning address so thats cool. Does it convert zaps into ecash?
Yes. If you are an apple user and can't use minibits then the alternative is npub.cash i use it with NIP-46 and nsec.app but i have to have both apps open at once so the two apps can talk to each other.
I have Android but it seems you can only get Minibits from Google Play?
Almost all open source android software you can get through Obtainium, but Obtainium is not in the play store. I think you have to use f-droid.
I use these but I dont see Minibits available there, only the beta it seems. They only put their app on the Play Store.
On iOS you need to go to Settings, Advanced, Experimental and enable Push API, and then add nsec.app on homescreen. Then it should start working in the background. But I haven't done extensive iOS testing yet, so no guarantees there.
@retired npub Have you tried this? ^
Yep! Loving nsec.app … loving it
