Yes but what superpowers could humans gain by merging with the silicon and software? What kind of superhumans will they produce 40 years from now after the collapse when there aren't rules preventing it? Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to be the direction we're headed.
Well, that's a whole different topic. And yes definitely heading there unfortunately. Can't stop it but not anything I would ever do. You want proprietary software linked to your brain? Not a good idea. Do that, and you have effectively handed your brain, and as such your mind and thoughts, to another.
What if the brain chip software and hardware was open source and it didn't do the bad stuff, and it gave you superpowers? Then would you consider it?
Guess you missed my second reply. Yes, There are exceptions, and a real FOSS version i could see myself considering. Still doubt it, but would change perspective at least
