He might be thinking either that they won’t bother or have so many to chase down it will be a burden to them. 

I’m more concerned if the artists on the series are getting income from the work. Which will probably stay in print. It probably opens DC to toss the concept to other creative teams now if they choose.

Warners has much larger PR issues now for this to even register.
