It makes total sense. They worked so hard. Sometimes new things come around. What if you were on TikTok first, people would think your an idiot. What if you thought ₿ was money in 2012? I would at least do some parallel posting or something. I think they confuse it for another platform that has a single point of failure. Instead of a protocol, that is the NosNet. They will get it at the price they deserve. 100k accounts plus will get here last.

The demise of free speech on centralized platforms (if it was ever there) is a loss, nostr notwithstanding. I’m not cheering for this loss for a couple of reasons. 1. X is an interface, a battleground. The battle is somewhat visible and useful as an indicator of sentiment. 2. I don’t think centralized platforms will cease to operate and have influence. I think people with large audiences on X should continue to support that ecosystem and their audiences, ideally with parallel efforts on nostr. This provides information continuity in both spaces and these people can serve as trusted ambassadors providing a conduit to decentralized platforms. I hope X and nostr users don’t lash out. Better to stay humble, tweet tweets and relay messages.

This is the same dynamic we see unfolding with statements from big finance against bitcoin. 'Don't disturb the game I am good at.' In time all of them look increasingly foolish and irrelevant.
