Will nostr be another place for people to be addicted social media? Do we really want addictive nostr? #AskNostr
It is not addictive, just turn off your phone. Much less addictive on nostr than X or Instagroom or TikTok
I agree, though I'm wondering if that'll be the direction it will go in to get adoption
Nostr is addictive cause there's so much value to be found
That's very true! I like checking it. I would like it to symbiotic
 good question!?
for now yes!
we'll deal with it later!
when nostr is on top
🤔 that's an interesting point. But at what cost? I think we have an opportunity to make a social network to aligns better with human psychology
 #freedom addicts, Yes! #grownostr
🤔 If it stays in the freedom category. What will happen if it is addictive?
The #government, the #media, the #education and the #financial system... all of it will start to look like a #farce. This will lead to #laughter, #joy and high vibrations! The path to #enlightenment requires such an addiction!
Not such a bad point. The culture must come first. And if stays freedom, and people enjoy it, I am okay with that. I'm more referring to psychological techniques implode by large tech companies to keep people checking their applications multiple times a day. The term is "Captology" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captology)
People naturally addict. That’s what we do. Same with fragmenting things. It’s just our nature 🤝🏼
Yes, though if we follow in the same footsteps as traditional digital social media, we will be using the same captology and still causing harm.

We have an opportunity to rewrite the program that will rewrite the future. I don't want decentralized (diet) algorithmic dopamine, I want freedom.
 With you!
I do believe the medium is the message (as McLuhan put it). I feel the same way about Bitcoin. Then again, if Bitcoin turns into another gold story, and nostr some addictive social media network; then we could re-centralize if we are not cautious.
If we are not steadfast in our efforts, we may fail.
