The collapse is already here, it's just distributed unevenly--to a lot of people, the collapse came in the shape of white men with guns, and now they live in post-collapse versions of their former culture in the worst regions white people could find, known as "reservations", pieces of the Third World right in the middle of the USA. There are regions in Africa and Latin America which are very much post collapse. Eventually, the collapse will reach the heart of the Empire.
