whatever people say about losing weight in europe has definitely not happened to me in japan fwiw, despite hiking for a few hours almost every day
Interesting. I lost 4 kilos in Japan last year. Curious to step on the scale when I get home this time. Feel like I've been starving for the last week 😅
Yeah I feel like that's such a common misconception about weight loss that you can just burn off the weight. If it was that easy, the human race would be extinct. During our hunter gatherer era, we would've spent more energy hunting and gathering the food than what the food could provide us. Our bodies are great at burning a somewhat fixed amount of energy regardless of lifestyle. Diet is the true key to weight loss.
running for 1 hour is like burning calories worth of 1 candy bar. weight loss by movement is extremely hard. decreasing input is a lot easier IMO.
The hormone response caused by foods is arguably more important than calories. This is why "eat less & move more" doesn't work for a lot of people.
