i was making an offline search tool for Project Gutenberg's library last night, and saw this speech in the search data. I downloaded it, and read it, and was amazed by its boldness. This one speech was significant in moving America toward revolution.

Oh! Yes. Patrick Henry did more to push towards revolution than just about any one else!
Gives me chills. The way he breaks it down.
If any of these guys were teleported to today’s USA would they not flee immediately to start over?
They would be put in a watch list, and the FBI would raid their homes.
Dude was like 16 at the time…

What am I doing with my life?
 Was he really?
Amazing.
 38, but still…
 Wow
Always knew the line "Give me liberty or give me death" but had never read the whole speech. Wow! It's a banger from beginning to end.. and that white is at the end.

Just remembered that I picked up Václav Havel's 'The Power of the Powerless' after seeing you mention it in a note you posted a while back.

It was an amazing and powerful read, especially for someone like me who has grown up and currently lives in a largely socialistic pattern of society.

So is this speech.

Thank you for sharing them! 🫂

It was this note:

He was such a great communicator and writer. I found some of his plays and other books. What an interesting guy.
