History knowers: Can anyone cite precedents where a politician called for civilians to assassinate a military leader? “Will no one rid me of this turbulent general?” This Trump/Milley situation seems buck wild to me. In a historical sense, is it?

If you're planning a coup, you need the military onside otherwise they will simply wipe you out.
