Antarctica is losing ice faster than ever before, according to a new study by NASA and the University of California, Irvine. The study used satellite data to measure the mass balance of the Antarctic ice sheet from 1992 to 2017. The results show that Antarctica has lost about 3 trillion tons of ice in this period, contributing to about 8 mm of global sea level rise.
