Happy Sunday to me. Today, I’m silently celebrating the ability to use my real name online. If I ever get shunned, maybe I’ll change it. But my birth name is so pretty. I’m happy with the name I was given at birth. Also thankful that my true friends understand my need for online safety aliases given the tracking, stalking, and harassment I’ve experienced online. I got a message from my high school teacher turned lifelong mentor. He is openly queer and living happily with his partner. I said, yes, Mr. L. It’s me. I’m using my real name because thankfully, my family never publicized my real name to people who weren’t safe.
