We played our first ever game of Twilight Imperium (4th ed) today, and it was appropriately epic. My University took an early lead; there were epic wars between the Xxcha and the Sardakk N'orr and the Hacan and the Federation; we got to do an agenda phase after the Barony of Letnev grabbed Mecatol Rex from right under my nose; and that move won them the game. It was great fun and we're definitely doing it again, but I think it's going to be a two-day affair. https://cdn.masto.host/warhammersocial/media_attachments/files/111/076/630/219/241/719/original/4a9662f2b096d8a4.jpg
A particular highlight was when the Sardakk N'orr (i.e. the Tyranids for us 40k people) played the action card Rise of a Messiah, hoping to recruit a whole bunch of infantry, and the Xxcha (like space turtles but also the Tau?) canceled it with another action card, Sabotage. For posterity, i.e. my blog, this game will be known as The Assassination of Bug Jesus by the Coward Space Turtles. https://cdn.masto.host/warhammersocial/media_attachments/files/111/076/658/551/961/594/original/23df6cd16bba3b3f.jpg
