Do they hold up to the 1970s Charlton Heston era?
Demolition Man
I quote that one all the time.
Pride and Prejudice is always a good one. I usually don't watch movies despite having so many of the ones I like that I've downloaded on my jellyfin.
Now do 50 First Dates
I kind of remember enjoying that one. That movie is 20 years old? WTF.
The Coen Brothers movies, in order of release.
Ooh, there’s a good challenge.
Once were Warriors Follows modern day (80s) Maori men struggling to juggle their traditional cultures with modern society

What’s one more between old friends then?! 🤣 Ok. How about scanner darkly?
Very good one. Old Keanu movies are the best.
Amelie? Saw it again recently and it was everything I remember and more.
Really digging deep!
Boosting two great recommendations below: Birdman The Wrestler Tough ones, but great.
Yes, I’ve seen both, but a long time ago.
Leaving Las Vegas is another oldie to make you reflect on a sick day. From back when Nick Cage was an actor.
😂
What kind of movies do you like? Love Jane Campion’s movies, French movies, etc
I’m a dummy when it comes to European films, but I did see at least the first part of the Three Colours trilogy from the mid-90s, which was my introduction to the stunning Juliette Binoche, and I guess that kind of stuck with me.
Remember, this is my taste of films, so is understandable if you don’t like it: Rust and Bone (De Rouille et D'os) - Marion Cotillard The Taste of Things (La Passion de Dodin Bouffant) - Juliette Binoche (the cooking part 🤌) A Fortunate Man (Lykke-Per) - A extraordinary Danish movie
have you seen the guardians of the galaxy trilogy?
Yes.
well, get well soon.
Thanks, should be in the clear in a couple of days. 🫂 I could do with less of some people getting triggered by the C word and pretending it doesn’t exist. It’s more severe than a cold and different from the flu. I should know, I’ve gotten it 3 times already. 😅
yup, I've had it once and it was rough
lasted 12 days for me, and I was tired for 2 weeks after that so actually cost me a month in real terms
Yeah, this is some bullshit. But I’m using this time to fill in some movie and book gaps, and shitposting, like one does.
Thursday
The Lobster (2015)
Oh Daniel please please please watch the Joe Wright’s Pride and Prejudice 🙏🏽🫂 (if you haven’t watched it) People always assume I fancy Darcy and relate to Elizabeth 🤔 but actually I relate to Darcy and think Elizabeth is just ridiculously beautiful to watch - not in a creepy way. If not Pride and prejudice, Good Will Hunting, The Iron Giant, Meet the Robinsons, Robots, While You Were Sleeping, The Departed, Interstellar, WALL-E, Sabrina (both 1954 and 1995), V for Vendetta, Coraline, You’ve got mail, sleepless in Seattle, Psycho, jeepers creepers, Luther: The Fallen Sun, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead You have most likely seen all of these, but man are they great 🫂 Hope you feel better soon 🫂🙏🏽🙏🏽

if you're feeling foolish, Street Fighter (1994) or Bloodsport Neverending Story 1/2 if you're watching with kids and want to be opinionated about the upcoming remake Nothing But Trouble for a strange movie I only have vague memories about except that it weirded me the hell out as a kid for the longest time. it's also probably very bad. Depends on your mood and risk tolerance
