@7b555b2a Excellent points. And, yes, they really hate the Constitution. This was so clear to me growing up in the US South during the Civil Rights era. That period is seminal for today. Many white Americans became so determined at that time to resist recognition of the constitutionally assured rights of people of color that they will tear the nation apart rather than concede.
@f884fa2b Agreed entirely...I was in Maryland when I was young in the 60s/70s and saw both sides, the "well intentioned" liberals who were at least trying and many others who just did not see people of color as even people. Ultimately this was their rationalization, "They don't deserve human rights as they are not really human."
@7b555b2a Yes, that was the strong underlying belief system and rhetoric, sel-justifying because it was designed to justify an exploitative system with the implication that human beings who are exploited deserve their exploitation since they’re less than human.
