I think it was either @MartyBent and/or @ODELL that I heard it from. 

Then I just started reading the nip repo and used the sites/apps from nostr.com. I had been looking at other social alternatives quite skeptically at the time, and still took me a bit to decide I wanted to build my signer tool and start using nostr.
