Headed down to Costa Rica for an overdue family vacation later this week.
I haven’t been back to CR in almost 15 years, before having kids.
We’re renting a car and driving up to La Fortuna - Arenal for a few days, and then down to the Jaco area for a few more days.
Do you world travelers have any food, bar, or adventure suggestions in those areas for me? 🇨🇷 https://image.nostr.build/395065130614c7528043e2a7561eb63de46f2b3dfdc949b3ee76449fe9f34eba.gif
Monteverde cheese is delicious, always worth that hazardous mountain ascent! So is any CR coffee.
So much that could be said…
Might be worth it to pay up for exceptional hotel hot spring amenities up the mountain in La Fortuna. Can get day passes. Sky bridges pretty cool. Visit the namesake waterfall for a swim in pristine water and an amazing view. Other waterfalls, too. Whitewater rafting if you’re into it…. If you want to wake up early you can see some wildlife with a guide traveling up toward Nicaragua. Really beautiful all around town.
Fried fish casados all day…
Jaco is lively. When I get near the beach I just start thinking ceviche ceviche ceviche.
Good luck. hope y’all have fun. PV!
