Non debatable concepts in Bitcoin: 1. Dividing people into 'toxic' and 'non toxic' camps. 2. Declaring 'OG' status or 'year I entered the market' status as somehow worthy of greater respect than anyone else holding the asset. Avoid at all costs. nostr:note18juetvl09gfny0u00rx9zn2vv5dc2mtwugj2ty5qp08gvx6dempq9t3dg6
i bought bitcoin first time in late 2012 didn't become toxic until i watched the shitcoin collapse of late 2021 as i worked in a company that was trying to shop my blockchain skills to shitcoin projects... pretty much just walked out of that job after 4 months of them serving me up a series of uber-shitty potential contract jobs, the worst one was with an israeli company wanting to build a multicoin android wallet - they didn't want to pay me what i was worth or the subcontracting company what they were investing... stumbled onto bitcoin twitter and got my laser eyes this guy is someone i avoid also, that is clear trolling behaviour, the mark of a fed, total attention whore
as for the dividing into camps, i am able to articulate a deep and nuanced rationale for why i am bitcoin-only, and how not just all other tokens are irrelevant baseless securities they are also vehicles for scams for the most part and do not actually produce security - distributed, decentralised databases are an important project but so far nobody has done an open system that doesn't abuse token ledgers and that's because of VC culture and this is holding us back... the nostr use case is a clear case in point for the value of a big, shared public database, for which there is still no effective solution the maximalist and toxic labels are slurs from shitcoin scammers, who, like all psychopaths, project their own disease onto everyone who calls them out not really accurate labels but well known to mean you reject shitcoin use case as a scam and have gotten long tired of explaining why to people
