Sorry to hear that. They’re a 150 year old cult of heretics, completely divorced from the 2000 year old historical Orthodox Church that Christ established, which established the Canon of Scripture (books of the Bible) 1500 years ago and knows how to properly interpret it.
The Bible is 100% true and infallible, but that doesn’t mean that your private interpretations are infallible. This is the problem that is especially problematic in Protestant and other Christian sects. They read it plainly and literally, without understanding how the Church understands and has interpreted these texts for 2000 years.
Then they come to wildly inaccurate interpretations, especially when it comes to the book of Revelation and end times.
You should read the Nag Hammadi scriptures some time, it's fascinating stuff, seeing what early Christians believed before the council of Nicaea.
Ultimately Gnostic “Christians” (who wrote the Nag Hammadi texts) were Christians in name only. They spread false gospels.
Plenty of people had various opinions who saw Jesus Christ or heard stories of Him, had their own opinions/ideas and expressed them. Gnosticism is form of religious relativism, where everyone had their own truths.
That’s why there were so many ecumenical councils early on; to refute the many heresies that were springing up.
There is only one Truth. That Truth is contained within the Orthodox Church, handed down to the 12 Apostles by Christ himself, who is God incarnate.
