Anyone else concerned about how, in the UK, we've got used to food shortages? No tomatoes in my local ASDA* today, but plenty of cucumbers, which makes a change. I managed to get the last two cabbages. It's autumn. We should be up to our knees in cabbages and root vegetables, but it was a pretty sorry display. *ASDA is the UK equivalent to Walmart, and was in fact owned by Walmart for a while.
@ec36a502 I haven't noticed many big ones lately but it seems they're always short of something. I'm putting the blame firmly on the supermakets and the price they're willing to pay for stuff rather than the Government and the B thing. Why grow those watery tasteless things for the Brits when you can get a better profit growing stuff for people willing to pay the asking price?
