As an early Bitcoiners I love Bitcoin. It brought me economic freedom. At the same time it brought me to Monero. And as the world moves more dystopian every day I started to value my Monero more than my Bitcoins. One is my digital cash and a private store of value. The other is a great investment and store of value like my gold holdings.

Both are tools to increase freedom in your life. Both have trade offs. Don't mix up NGU with real freedom.

In today's panopticon NGU can have many different negative consequences on your (mental) freedom. Especially if other people know about it.
I had real freedom before bitcoin. I learned to let go, and I tested myself by travelling "naked" - no luggage, no contacts, no language, just my wits.

If monero succeeds, the world will be better for it. That also means it will be there if needed. I'm focused on bitcoin, and I'm a "burn the ships" kind of person. I'll conquer or I'll die trying, and that's true liberation. Shitcoins, hopefully, were the last piece of the compromise mentality that had to die.

A bit of an ego spew, that, but no lies.
