My terminology would be :

You compose and send a note to the relays, that's how you note. 

If you send an existing note to the relays, that's how you renote.

Noting, renoting, zapping and fetching others notes is how you Nostr. 

 Quoting is included in noting by this definition yet remains its own thing

As for boosting I would assume it's about the likes and the other reactions though many use it for renotes 

 I'll necc before I ever say "renote" out loud  

 I read it for the first time today from ODELL and found it quite funny. I doubt it sticks too though. 😄
