Our dog Flotsam died today. I didn’t really want another dog when kids found him swimming in Narragansett Bay, but he needed a home, and my wife has a kind heart.

For nine years he was a steadfast pal and unofficial mascot of our yacht club.

Flotsam, I release you from your human bonds.
