My big lesson for covid was just how long and how much shit people can get used to. It was like a slow as molasses shit hitting the fan, even in the beginning, when even the conspiracy theorists were hedging for the possibility of bad. 

Now, because the economic collapse is not a super immediate event (even less than a theoretical pandemic), I'm assuming we will see our standards of living degrade in slow motion and we will have plenty of warnings as we fall to 2nd world.
