@6cfde172 not an exclusive communist classic. Where i live, from the '60's all through the 80's, your membership of any party dictated which jobs you could get in a huge way. Nowadays that's been (for the most part) eliminated. If we go back even further, the great distinction was between catholics and socialists. (have a look at "Pater Daens". He fought for human rights in Flanders, amongst others).
