I've know I've mentioned this in posts with you before, but I think, unfortunately, for better or worse, I am so jaded about American politics that I have genuinely lost hope for any sort of political solutions, so I'm kind of just sitting here waiting for the Empire to crumble. So I intentionally do not focus on politics and just try to focus on what I can do on a daily basis to help myself and help those around me. I still vote, even though I think it's a futile exercise, especially considering there's no way to vote for or show your discontent in the political system other than doing a pointless write-in, or I guess not voting at all, which I'm weirdly not okay with even though I understand most people's argument, saying that they don't vote out of protest. But I definitely agree with you on the whole like what you focus on is what you see more of. When I was more concerned about the US political process, I saw more of it and I was generally a more angry person because I was so focused on what the "other side" was doing.
