New at Media Nation: X/Twitter may be terrible, but it's still the go-to place for certain types of conversations. https://dankennedy.net/2023/10/07/x-twitter-may-be-terrible-but-its-still-the-go-to-place-for-certain-types-of-conversations/
@2d86597c is it "twitter-shaming" or just reinforcing the case for leaving? To get people to break a habit that isn't totally bad for themself (especially the writers who attract most of the consumers), it isn't surprising the message has to be constantly repeated.
@2d86597c one of the things about Twitter is that is simply has a large user base, even after the exodus. You cannot ignore that. Once you acknowledge that, you have to decide whether it’s something you want to still engage in or not. And if you do, you have to deal with the consequences of being on that platform. Some of us have decided that it wasn’t worth it. you certainly sacrifice certain types of conversation, though.
@2d86597c "most of our tech platforms are controlled by dubious characters, and there’s not much we can do about it."

Replace "tech platforms" with railroads, city-states, or caves and you've encapsulated a recurring theme in the evolution of civilization from the start.
