Ok I avoided the topic until now, but you got me with this one. So fluoride in toothpaste is ok (good?), but there is another fluoride they put in drinking water we should not drink?
I think at least the latter one is not allowed in Germany. But what about the toothpaste? 🦷 There it is ok in your opinion?
I highly doubt she will say yes. Anything that goes in your mouth twice a day will be at least partially ingested repeatedly.
you’re not swallowing toothpaste. plus fluoride free toothpaste exists
So I have been a big proponent of fluoride for almost my entire career. We had a big chiropractic school in our town and we would see the students become anti fluoride while there and suddenly have their first cavities and sometime a mouth full of them. BUT fluorosilicic acid used to fluoridate water is toxic and while sodium and calcium fluoride in toothpaste is pharmaceutical grade, highly water soluble and bind to calcium, there are options now to prevent caries (hydroxyapatite and xylitol) that are equally effective if not better imo.
