 what I meant is what are Ordinals to Bitcoin? 

They Ignore Bitcoin
They fight Bitcoin 
Or they adopt Bitcoin

 At least two out of the three options would suggest it is worth caring if Bitcoin is of interest. 

I’m not suggesting you should care about them. Just playing with logic. 
If ordinals just ignore what Bitcoin is then caring is useless. But if they are truly Bitcoin adoption or an attack on Bitcoin, I should probably care. 

Like you, I feel that ordinals are simply ignoring Bitcoin
