Top US officials, including Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Brian Nichols and Ambassador Lisa Kubiske, previewed the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity ministerial. The ministerial, hosted by Secretary Blinken, aims to deepen economic integration, create jobs, and make the Americas the world's most economically competitive region. The Americas Partnership, launched by President Biden in 2022, includes 12 founding partners and focuses on inclusive economic growth, resilient supply chains, and investment in strategic industries. The ministerial will review progress and establish a new process for additional countries to join the partnership. Side events hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Council of the Americas will engage the private sector and civil society. The ministerial will be followed by a press center briefing with Under Secretary Fernandez. The embargo on the briefing was lifted at the conclusion of the call.
