 Good morning, #nostriches!

I'm the only one in my shop. It's too quiet. The only sound is a couple of fans circulating air. We're supposed to be super busy at the Fiat mine, but... I was not informed of my next task, nor do I have drawings or a work order or anything.

Ah! My foreman finally showed up and I've got work to do, but not before I told him that the jobs that I know are coming are not being handled correctly and that if that keeps up, I'll be finding another job. I refuse to work like an idiot anymore.

Gm, sounds like the coco I had with my boss last month. Keep does Ng my work I will find a place that will let me do it. (I fiat on commission)

Good on you beav
 Thank you!
I am not sure I could ever work for commission. I've tried. I was terrible... LOL! That's hardcore abs requires a way different set of skills than I possess or would want to try to develop. Go you!
commission is not that hard(Dan Wedge?) & pays betr with more self direction/freedom ime
I operate better in a bit of structure, especially if the structure is one that is continually optimized.
yes, i get you. was rereading your note & understand betr
Eh the commissions ok its 4.5% which means I don't care if you get a deal

Thanks for understanding the gibberish I typed above
That's a pretty good commission rate.

It wasn't too bad. 😎
GM Beav, keep building the future 👊🏻🫂☕️
 One day at a time...

Thank you!
 GM!
Thank you, NG! I still giggle when I see your avatar. (Yes that's also a pun.)
 🤙🏻🫡💜🫂
 GM! 💜
 Thanks!
GM! Do what feels right for you. I'm finding myself in a similar situation, but I'm waiting for the right opportunity to move on.
Best of luck with everything you do 💙
Thank you. I don't act on my feelings, though, or, not without a significant time examining the root causes of them. Internally I can be a petulant child and that's not someone anyone else needs to deal with, especially not in a (supposedly) professional work environment.

I'm going on vacation next week, so... I'm going to leave things be for now and then examine my options after I get back.
Move to South Texas, make Starships.
No. Texas is in my list of places I never want to go again. I can't stand it. It's full of Texans. I came to not like Texans much due to my time in the army. I'm too much of a damn Yankee to live in the south, plus, it's way too hot for me. North is the direction I'm likely heading.
My buddies from the north say similar things. They manage the Texans, but the heat still wears on them. Subjectively, the work vibe here is more toward common sense, especially in mechanical, industrial, etc. Anything outside of an office. And there's a lot available, so you can bounce around. However, middle management will always be middle management.
Yeah, but I just can't. It's also too far from family.
Understand completely. Just general info for a rainy day. We'll take you if you change your mind. 😂
Lol! Well, if things go really wrong, sure. 😁
I can't disagree. I like the rockets but I would be hard to physically remove me from the upper Midwest. MI originaly, MN now.
Yup. The upper mid west is appealing, but, it's too far from family.
I was going to say that there are plenty of good paying welding jobs in the oil fields in Wyoming and Wyoming doesn't have a state income tax, but if the mid west is too far from family, Wyoming is way too far.
and i thought you were English
Ethnically, part, yes. But I'm just an idiot American. 🤷‍♂️
Popular culture made me feel that Texans were cool - cowboys, rough & tough, thick headed but gentle at heart, religious, country music, and so on.

/Of course, the history isn't good. Yeah, never been to the US.
Cowboys in moves are cool. Cowboys in real life were often very not cool.

Good morning, its tough working at a place like that. Do what you think is right.
I've already had one big confrontation a few months ago about a safety issue that I was certainly willing to walk out over. They listened, eventually, but... Why let things get to that point?

I hate doing it, but I do have the CEOs direct number and I will request a direct meeting with him soon since I don't think that my foreman (who is a good dude, really) is expressing my concerns correctly or as forcefully as I would if I was in his position, especially with my now demand for a raise.
 bore out incoming
 Get em Beave.
I don't want to. I just want to find a place that will listen before they take on dumb work. I get that dumb jobs can pay really well, but... That doesn't mean we need to do the dumb job as stupidly as possible.
 check your boss's incentives,might help
He hates confrontation. Hates. So, he often doesn't speak up to the managers and owners.

I, however, am conversant with conflict, especially in my core competency areas. I will tell people to get bent (politely if warranted) and then happily go back to doing what I was while the recipient of any invective is left wondering if I'm actually sane. 😁😎💪🏻
