Many client devs have gotten together to this week to discuss building out and implementing NIP-104. This will give Nostr a truly private and secure messaging alternative to Telegram. Based on recent news, the timing is perfect. It's going to take a lot of time, development, and funding, but I have faith in their drive and their passion. I also have faith in nostr:nprofile1qqspwwwexlwgcrrnwz4zwkze8rq3ncjug8mvgsd96dxx6wzs8ccndmcpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgtc9qeg9l 🤙🏻💜🫂
I will help fund that!
where can we help? I was writing a proof of concept for this exactly.

Would be great to create/have a bot that automatically pastes a link to info about a specific nip the moment it is mentioned .
I’ve been on nostr for like two years and they have been saying it’s right around the corner that whole time. https://media.tenor.com/q9crr_x6HLYAAAAC/princess-bride-you-keep-using-that-word.gif
Telegram has never had encrypted groups. Nostr relays don't host media either, they relay the URL of the media host. P2P transmissions also expose both clients to each other. Even if you download a torrent, you're letting everyone know who you are (which is how you get notices from your ISP). There's a lot of misinformation going around today. VPNs, especially commercial ones, are still bound to their host countries laws. If the government really wanted they could compel those companies to give you up. No one is anonymous here. Even people like Edward Snowden. The Russians know exactly where he is and if they wanted to they would extradite him to the US.
Thank you Devs
Unless they are E2EE how Secure can they be if they have to bounce off all these different relays.
Is there a forum, Nostr thread, or GitHub issue that people can follow the dev discussions? I'm a software dev and I'd like to understand the technical trade offs and limits.
