 What's better as thermal mass on top of floor hearing, a layer of concrete or tiles? Looks are totally irrelevant. Any input?

Tiles should be better as they are slightly more dense and homogeneous. Not sure if the difference would be measurable.

 @d0e09e5d Something you can remove if the heating system fails.
You can find a heat capacity table for materials. Water is the stand out material, but it is not good for flooring.
